MLCCs are cheap and low-ESR but the capacitance under DC bias is a fraction of nominal, while tantalums are stable but come with surge-current baggage. For bulk decoupling on a mid-power board, how are you splitting between them these days? Has DC-bias derating of MLCCs pushed you back toward tantalum?
